Supervision at Waterloo counselling
I offer supervision sessions to counsellors/psychotherapists and counselling trainees. If you are training or working as a counsellor, I work psychodynamically, enabling you to reflect on unconscious conflicts and to better understand and strengthen your relationship with your client.
What kind of supervisor do I need?
If you are looking for a supervisor, you will want to work with someone who has experience of offering supervision and can help you to support and understand your client. I have four years of experience working with counselling trainees at Birkbeck, University of London and offering group supervision. I am experienced in offering a safe environment in which to think about your client and how to work effectively to enable change and growth.
Getting started with a supervision relationship
Just as with starting counselling, the first step is to give me a ring (07428939946) or send me an email, letting me know a little bit about yourself and what you are looking for in terms of supervision. If you think the supervision I offer is right for you, we will arrange for you to come to Waterloo counselling for an initial session. We think together about what you need, how often you may need to come for supervision and what would be affordable to you. You can have 1-2-1 supervision sessions or you can come with another supervisee, which some people prefer and also means you can make the sessions more affordable.
Charges — affordable supervision
At Waterloo Counselling I charge £50 per 50 minute session and £60 for two people. I offer reduced rates for trainees and people on low wage and want to ensure the supervision sessions are affordable for you. Low rate sessions are usually in the day and you can call or email me for more details.
Waterloo counselling space
Waterloo counselling is easy to access via public transport. For details on how to get there and other inquiries, please see the Practicalities page. The counselling rooms are quite small and so I can offer supervision for one or two people at a time.
Waterloo Counselling — Lectures and workshops
I run monthly lectures and workshops at waterloo counselling. I also run a monthly reading group. The workshops and reading groups are for mental health professions. The reading group is called ‘time to change’ and is about professionals engaging with politics/literature/film and thinking about how broadening understanding about the world can enable us to become more creative and expansive therapists and mental health professionals.
